Miriam in the Desert: A webinar with Alicia Jo Rabins
Offered through our friends at the wonderful Jewish Women’s Archive, who are also hosting short song-only versions of the Girls in Trouble Curriculum on their site.
From JWA: “JWA is thrilled to be partnering with Alicia Jo Rabins, writer, composer, performer, and Jewish educator, to present her new curriculum based on her song cycle about Biblical women, Girls in Trouble. During this online learning program, Alicia will introduce the curriculum, and will focus specifically on her lesson about Miriam…just in time for Passover! The lesson focuses not on Miriam’s celebrated moment at the sea, but on a difficult episode later in her life; through art and song, we will consider how the fullness of Miriam’s story might reflect the complexity of our own lives. This program has been designed with an educator audience in mind, but anyone who is interested is encouraged to participate.”
Registration is free and open to all; sign up here.
